2010 – An end to a decade in a Millennium

It has come to the end of the first decade in this millennium. 10 years ago, we were told that it was going to be the end of the world! But look at us now… some of us have been successful in pursuing their dreams while some are on their way to accomplishment. Looking back at my 2010 calendar, I have been through many exciting events this year. On the page of my 2010 resolution, I have hit 8 out of 13 things I wanted to achieve. Because of this, I will plan my 2011 with MORE enthusiasts in order to achieve greater. I am glad for everything that happened in this year. Whether or not the event had been blissful or bitter, I appreciate everything.
In the beginning of the year, one of my greatest joys was being accepted by JCU for my degree in Psychology. Back then, I was still doing my attachment in the amazing Conrad hotel. Going to JB to pump petrol weekly with Rayyan, Nemo, Boon and Zaki was also one of the things I look forward to every weekend. I also remember getting drunk on many occasions and sprouting new jokes. I still remember the “满” plastic bag of puke and “Daisy”. Which Fred, Sandy and Yiting like to emphasize about. It is also in this year that I got a chance to drive a convertible which I’m grateful to Sandy who allowed me to.
I got a chance to experience Egypt in Singapore at the National Museum – Quest for immortality. For the first time, I have seen the REAL mummies! Also, because of Nemo’s passion about bikes, I did develop a certain liking for those sexy machines. Sadly I have given up hopes of riding due to disappointment in failure. I went on board the Singapore Flyer for the first time was also in this year. I would like to thank Rayyan for the free tickets for the flyer trip!
During mid year, it has come to an end of my Conrad’s attachment I was moving on to further studies at JCU. Although I rejoice the end of attachment, I feel a sense of unwillingness to leave the Conrad family. I would miss a lot of people like HuiHui, Fenoline, Russel, Harris, Issac and Suswe. We had an awesome EXCLUSIVE chalet to mark the end of attachment where we BROUGHT A RICE COOKER AND A MICRO-OVEN TO COOK INSIDE THE CHALET!!!
April 18 was a very grief day as the news of the passing of my young cousin whom had left this world for a better place. Death knows no age; you should live everyday like it is your last.
I went to Pulau Tioman with Fabian, Andrew and Denise. The sunburn marks have STAYED WITH ME UP TILL NOW! It was my 2nd time in Tioman island but this was the first when I went snorkeling with the fishes! I swam with loads of fishes, corals and some predators! I saw a SHARK and even stalked a blue ring Stingray! I enjoyed island life so much that when I got home, I felt “home sick”. It was also in mid year when my liking for slashing zombies developed. I even brought my laptop to Jakarta to KILL THEM ZOMBIES!
In May, grandpa started going in and out of the hospital because of the cancer cells in his bladder. He went through an operation and was not feeling motivated to live on. I celebrated my birthday which was also the first day I met Elton (now Eden). I have to thank Yiting for asking him along otherwise I won’t have met him! AND I BELIEVED THAT HE WAS YITING COUSIN BECAUSE SHE SAID SO! Also, I attended my first BYOB which left me permanently scarred for life with puke bags.
Coming to the end of the mid-year, life got even MORE EXCITING. School was awesome and I made great new friends, Dhaarsheini, Joy, Haydn and Kristina. We did many assignments together and gossip about other people together!!! HAHAHAH!! July was also the first time in UNIVERSAL STUDIO SINGAPORE! Thanks to Fenoline who got us staff prices to enter. I had a wonderful time with Fenoline, Kian Leong, Hui Hui, Wee Jun and VON!
In the beginning of the end year, I was meeting more frequently with Amanda, SC, Kel, Hui ni, Shuli and Amy. I would look forward to meeting them for the weekends just to chill, talk and GOSSIP ABOUT CERTAIN PEOPLE! I also remember that twice this year my friends had to come down to help me FIX a FLAT TIRE TWICE ON 2 DIFFERENT CARS in 2 weeks! I need to thank Amanda, Sc, Kelly, Nemo and Terence for helping me. I went official with Eden on 8/9/10 and I have been enjoying every moment we share since.
I had many new pets added to the family this year but none can be compared to the birth of Mochi and Oreo on the 10/11/10. I saw a new meaning to life when I the infant guinea pig was brought to this world! I had my Shatec graduation in November which made my mum very proud of me. I can see the happiness in her that day. This year end, I got to watch Serene get her other tattoos.. AWESOME! I also did my first marathon this year, running a 42.129km in Singapore with Pris, Randy, Rayyan and Nemo. I also went to watch Walking with the Dinosaurs with Shuli, Amy and Karthi! Thank you Shuli for the great seats and free tickets!
Before the year has ended, one my sis’s daredevil Roborovski hamster decided to throw a stunt by getting SUCKED in to the vacuum cleaner and shocked everyone! Luckily, the switched was off on time before he was sucked into the bag! The wonders of having a mini pet farm at home, the little critters never cease to amuse.
I would like to thank everyone, you have made 2010 a great year and I hope I made yours memorable as well! Special thanks to a few people especially my mum, my family and KUM!!! And don’t forget Rocky, MoMo, Herce, Ginger, Jade, Diego, Ramon, the 3 Roboroski, Tofu, Mochi and OREO! Like to thank Kelly who has always been there for me no matter what!
For those whom I did not mention, it doesn’t mean I don’t remember… I just can’t fit everyone’s name in!
